tampertwo
Hi m8, Yeah dont put yourself down so much, a lot of firms are looking for engineers out thier so get your c,v out thier. With a lot of different manufacturers of security equipment out thier its difficult for any engineer to know every piece of kit so companies using specific types of equipment will be training new staff anyway. The quals will give you the basis behind everything tho and will most certainly give you a better start. alterEGO
lol, just goes to show how good our training is. largest national independent i believe........ lol, something like that, the abel lads round here are known as 'The Destroyers'. i hate doing those takeovers, went to one once that they had added stuff on to, only one week before. the customer had lost faith and got hold of us, got there and they had blown a gardtec 816 by shoving the expander on the wrong way round. hence 'The Destroyers', lol guess they all have their idiots. ScorpioInstallations
Hi Mark, Go for it ! You'll definitely get a job as a trainee from some one, the industry is desperate for good engineers and the best way to be a good engineer is to understand electronics and the fundamentals of alarm, CCTV and access workings, the C&G will put you in good stead for this and to boot the fact that you have been in the army is a attribute in it's self. We had a lad from the signals and even without qualifications his attitude to work was second to none. Put your CV out when your qualified and in the mean time try and find a 'Teach your self electronics' book, if you can understand the fundamentals the rest will come easy.
