Scantronic 9651 Global Tamper

Featured Replies

Hi, I'm new to this forum and indeed fiarly new to security alarm installation, I'm more used to data installations.

I have been asked to relocate an alarm system for a freinds business. The system is a Scantronic 9651 with a 9930 keypad, it all looks fairly straight forward, 2 door sensors and 2 PIR detectors with an external sounder, the system has a communicator installed.

The display on the keypad is showing a "Global Tamper" message, I woulds first like to clear this message beofe moving the system, so I know what I'm working with.

I presume there must be some sort of code to enter, can anyone advise a) How to clear the message B) any tips on refitting the system.

Thanks

Chris.

Global Tamper means one of the tamper circuits has been interfered with. You need to find the cause and rectify it before doing anything else.

Presumably the owner has the user and engineer codes and installation manual? If not, you're "dead in the water". You will no doubt have read the rules here by now and understand that no-one here can supply you the installation/engineering manuals.

Finally, if the communicator talks to any sort of Response Centre forget it, you can't set that up as a DIY-er, only a certified professional. :ninja:

PS As an afterthought - if this is for business premises the insurers will probably not be happy with a DIY alarm installation.

for a freinds business.

okay, installed as requirement of insurance?

the system has a communicator installed.

you will be unable to place the system on test with the arc, if you tamper with chances are they may know wants going on informing site, keyholder, firm maybe even ending up with the police out?

I woulds first like to clear this message beofe moving the system,

I assume its on engineering reset if its on signalling, my advice is to leave well alone
