Vcl Dome

Featured Replies

Guys, I know this is a bit of a 'pet' subject but.... I have 'won' a VCL dome which will be used as part of my Amateur Radio station on 23cms. I 'assumed' it would use VCL protocol but seems not. The board is silk screened as VC415/3 and has one 8 way dil switch (address) and one 0.1" header for RS485 termination.

There is a product code label which says VC8E-12AFMP.

I have tried VCL at 9600 and Pelco at 4800. I have tried the address at actual, +1 and -1 but no joy.

Anyone familiar with these ??

Is the address switch only for address ??

Any 'clues' would help

Thanks,

Dave

IIRC VCL domes are addressed as normal binary plus 1

hope this help, if i am right

You will need to set the dip switches to all off for camera one. this is actually number 0 in usual binary but VCL has a weird set up!!!!

and dont forget the refresh the dome after changing the switchers ;-0 i mean turn it off then turn it on again
