many thanks guys......i checked the last alarm situation and its showing the pir in the kitchen ........how do i check this pir is working as it should before replacing is there a simple test........thanks again steve

Your pretty much asking "How long is a piece of string".

Generally PIR's rarely fail, if they false alarm its because something in the local enviroment causes the false alarm.

Has anything changed in the area recently? probably not! Check inside the pir for insects or spiders, more than likely the cause. Then you should maybe consider replacement.

Failing that then then i suggest you contact your local company or give your location and maybe some of the guys here can help you out!
