Hi all, just got a question on a scantronic panel. It is monitored and has a microphone so the monitoring station can listen in when the alarm is triggered, would this just be wired from the mic into the panel or is it to some sort of speech dialer? any info would help

I need to know as a friend who has a problem on his shop, i install cctv and alarms but not monitored. the problem is that central station cannot hear anything through the mic when dialed in. Just wondering if its a faulty mic, cable fault or something not set up correctly. not actually had a look at the panel yet so just getting a few ideas incase anyone suggested anything.

Shouldn't he be asking the company who installed it as presumably he is paying them for maintenance and monitoring. If you touch it will invalidate any warranties or service guarantees.
