February 11, 200719 yr comment_150505 I am not sure on the requirements for entering England, but I am sure securing a job here will help. Probably not, it's a bit chicken-and-egg. If you don't have permission to work here you often can't be offered a job, in fact most agencies won't let you apply. If you're one of a selected list of trades it's different, or have some claim to citizenship in UK or EC. I'd go and talk to the British Consulate first, or look at the UK government web sites. Have a look at the HSMP (Highly Skilled Migrant Program) for example, or the more normal Work Permit Visa (which an employer gets for you). There's a scoring system for these which you can usually have a go at online. The basic rules are here: http://www.ind.homeoffice.gov.uk/lawandpol...tionrules/part5 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/15629-overseas-technician-requiring-work-permit/page/2/#findComment-150505 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 February 11, 200719 yr comment_150615 I have a good knowledge of winpak, prowatch and Tecom (called something else in UK) and CCTV systems. Are there any companies in the UK who would be interested in sponsering someone like me or is this something that does not usually happen? The Tecom alarm panel is what we call the Aritech (or GE security) ATS panel. Most people on here can stand it or even get there head around it.(all that flagging ) Most naitionals use it on certain installations, Initial Fire and Security(part of rentokil) use it the most and they would probably sponsor you. Just a question, why on earth the UK, its a sinking ship over run by Nannys who tax and control everything. If i were you i'd go to Canada or USA mate.. February 11, 200719 yr comment_150626 I would most likely want to be close to london. The reason i want to go over to UK is that it is easier and cheaper to travel, people speak english and it is not much different than Australia. It would be very easy to get settled. Also London is a Rat Race, its cost to get around and travel, You need to read up on whats going on in uk mate. Inner city congestion charge, flight tax and fuel tax.
