February 4, 200719 yr comment_148651 If Time lapse video recorder will record 24 hrs onto a 3 hr tape, will the time increase if I use a higher capacity tape? eg 4hr tape = 32 hrs, 5 hr tape 40 hrs Rick Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/15425-yet-another-newbie-question/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 February 4, 200719 yr comment_148655 They will chew the heads up as they deteriorate , why 3 hrs. are the norm and you get a time lapse with longer recording times. I have seen a tlvcr die in 6 weeks because they never rotated the tapes as shown, and remember the heads aint under warranty then if atall. February 4, 200719 yr comment_148680 i'd be very wary using anything but CCTv designed E180 tapes, the longer versions tend to jam up, especially at any sign of humidity given the cost of a reasonable DVR i'd recommend an upgrade in that direction. regs alan If you think education is difficult, try being stupid!!!! February 4, 200719 yr comment_148688 I thought you weren't allowed to use anything but E180's due to the tension on the time lapse mech which feeds the tape in?
