Can anyone tell me how to connect my cct715 to a vcr. The manual says use the monitor out socket but the cables I ahve don't fit

What VCR are you using?

You will probably need a BNC plug for the DVR and a scart socket for your VCR, if your VCR has a phono video input then a BNC to BNC lead with a BNC to Phono adapter should work, or a scart plugged cable with a phono to BNC adapter.

The signals will be the same you will just have to select the input on your VCR.
