ADE PANELS

Featured Replies

<_< ADE ran into some real bad quality control problems back in 2000/1.

The company I worked for used only them for years befor that.

since 2001 we have not used them once.

What I would like to know is, has ADE inproved since then or do they still have problems.

The panels we had problems with where The Optima (all types) Accenta 8, The Karizma plus and the Ultimate. Just about all of them.

I have never used any of the G range of panels.

So does anyone know if ADE are any better these days?

Adrian :)

The same happened at our place, we used to fit a lot of ADE equipment, but just like yourselves we havnt touched the stuff since 2001.

There seems to be a problem with the RKP on the G3's, the ribbon wiring.

I don't install them but had a few comment on them in my group. The ribbon wire on the remote breaks.

I've also seen Dave reply to somebody else about it.

Thanks for your comments, I have totally back tracked on my idea to get one of these ADE systems now.

I'll arange for a pro to install my system.

BUT............................................................................

Can you recommend any "Good" average home/domestic systems that I should be looking towards? Such as that as mentioned by Dave P - the TEXECOM VR8 KIT as at http://www.alertelectrical.com/html/produc...uct2.asp?ID=143

I use the Pyronix Sterling 10 for most of my domestic installs, never had any problems at all, good value for money. I'll dig out a link when i get a moment.

The link for Pyronix is http://www.pyronix.com/ go to products/control panels/sterling 10. It gives you all the specs etc.

I believe kits are sold at http://www.cpc.co.uk or http://www.alertelectrical.com

It's my preference although each installer has his favourite!

 Thanks for the link to cpc Simmo

I have been wondering where I could get hold of the Sterling 10. Do you think their price is a fair one? or not

Any one else got anything to say about this panel good or bad?

Adrian <_<

Adrian,

The CPC price is reasonable, although you will have to stick VAT and delivery on. I get my stuff from Gardiners and its a few quid cheaper but the CPC price is good. Make sure you go for the LCD keypad worth the few quid extra.

Its a doddle to install, and I've had no problems to date with any of my panels.

cheers

:) simmo

Thanks for that I'll see if I can get a freebie one at Ifsec.

Are you going? I'll be going on tuesday maybe see you there.
