Vga Converter Advice Sought

Featured Replies

Hello folks,

I know this isn't strictly a CCTV question, but please bear with me as it's the same technology, so if you guys don't know no-one will.

I'm in space-saving mode and would ideally like to share a computer monitor (e.g. 19" XGA CRT or 17" LCD) so that it can be used to watch TV (from a PVR or Freeview box) or play games (PS2) as well as occasionally plug into a computer (test system).

I have no shortage of VGA monitors, to say the least!

The PS2 I think only outputs composite video, while the PVR can probably do either CVBS or RGB via SCART.

There have been some comments on here about VGA adapters, but nothing that looks totally relevant. Can anyone recommend a unit at a "reasonable" price, i.e. for domestic use not professional/industrial, and where to get it.

The only sources I've found so far are Maplins and Henry's, but not knowing the products I'm not sure what (if anything) will fit the bill.

Any thoughts, anyone? Thanks in advance....

As much as I hate to say it, LJD's TVBOX would fit the bill.

I'll put some time into finding someone else that could supply one though, someone not so LJD like!

Keene Electronics is always worth a look for video converters and the like.

You should find what you are looking for at CPC

Interesting. They have something that looks just like the LJD unit, but for less than half the price!
