I have installed a BT Inspiration system, which is working fine apart from a delay when you finish a using an external line.

When you hang up the "Line 1" light stays illuminated on each system phone for around 12 seconds, if you try and make another call in this time it says "line busy".

Is there any line timeout settings that can be modified, I reset the whole system to defaults when installing it.

Hi John

Assuming you are using analogue lines, you need to enter System Programming and in PSTN settings change Guarded Clear to OFF.

Defaulting the system sets guarded clear to ON which will cause the delay.
