October 10, 200619 yr comment_125544 Hi Everyone, I've have SL compact which until now has worked for 6 years. Recently the remote keypad has died on me. The keys are still lit, however the other leds (zones, daytime and power) are all off. I cannot arm the alarm since the keypad doesn't work. I was going to look in the alarm panel, however if the tamper triggered the alarm, I couldn't switch the alarm off since the keypad is dead. Does anybody know a quick fix??? Regards, Lee (sleeping with one eye open). October 11, 200619 yr comment_125657 Chances are mate new battery needed Thanks for the response. I've popped the fuse out and measured the 13V feed on the remote keypad (now supplied from the battery). The battery is suppling 9.5V, is this sufficient? Why would a flat battery kill the keypad when there's mains present, is this normal? Regards, Lee 9.5V from a battery is totally inadequate if that's just after you've removed mains power. It's definatly a dead battery as a good battery should be able to supply at least 12v or more for at least 2hr after mains failure.
