How many phones have you got that have the ringer turned on?

Although realistically it's unlikely that REN will be an issue as most phones have self\low powered ringers so are well below their marked REN values, like 0.1 rather than 1.

just two digtal handsets

each item 1=ren, unless the the babt label says different, support of 4ren then a ren booster is required.

only two digtal cordless phones one speech dialler plus com2400 modem and on adls router

I take it you've filtered the line to the COM2400 correctly?

yes used the socket to plug the phone cord in with line filter as i have broad band should i hard wire it is that better?

also i have my caller id withhold on m phone line (ie when i call some one the can see my number) i thank this will not help?
