Bellboxes

Featured Replies

I have been reading a few of your post, and I found the descussion about the bellboxes quite funny. Whats everyones view on the best bellbox? Will the most powerfull 4 sounder box get a better response, or will it just make all your nieghbours hate you forever.

:) Well the way I see it, If a 4 sounder unit gets more people looking at your house when an intruder is breaking in. then its done its job assuming someone phones the police that is.

I also believe that any system should have some other form of letting the owner know there is a problem. IE a conection to a monitoring station, or at the very least a speech dialer.

As a rule the louder the sounder, the more notice it gets.

If my Nova4Q went of id certainly get a response (123dB), even if it was just a neighbour coming to complain. :) Most sounders are between 110 and 115dB, and serve their purpose in most situations, but theres quite a few below the 110dB mark which really attract no more attention than a car alarm might.

Whats the point of having an alarm that people will just ignore.

Was the norm years ago for insurance companies to insist on 125db+ in buildings with high value goods.

eeeeeeeeeeee "When I was workin for Noah" ;)

We still have a few Elkrons and Glaxtons wired up at certain premises, good old fashioned sounders.

Heres the link for the Nova 4 bellboxes. Nova 4 Intro

The unique design of the Novagard 4 offers a first class alternative to conventional low profile housings. As you would expect, a full range of sounder options are available giving sound outputs to an incredible 123dB @ 1m.
