Red Fox UK
I did find a few kits on the internet, just wondering if there were any "gotchas" that I need to watch out for... Other than that, they look pretty easy to install. Guest
Dont forget the supplies to the control unit, the saftey beams, induction loops. How will visitors announce themselves. can you weld as well, or is it wooden gates. Came brackets need to be welded wotever as do Nice and FAAC. Is it heavy useage if so go to 24VDC motors. Easiest to fit is the Ferni range from Came, articulated arms and forgive even the worst hinge geometry, nice do a good equlivant too. Just make sure the gates run smooth and dont fall out of line. A stop is needed for both open and closed, you can use internal limit switches but its a fools game to depend on them. Apart from that its a stroll in the park. Unless you need leading edge safteys for errant children behind rolling gates or schools or i`ll shut up now. Red Fox UK
So you would recommend the above ground rams as opposed to the underground motors for small domestic gates? Guest
Small domestic gates use geared motors. For pure class use underground, but if gates already fitted use "rams". Mick
A few words of caution when buying electric gate kits. I know one supplier who will do a hydraulic underground kit which includes remotes, control panel, photocells etc gor about Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11660-automatic-gates/#findComment-124467 Share on other sites
