Sd1+ Speech Dialler

Featured Replies

Hi

I have just moved into a new house and attached to my main alarm system is an SD1+ Speech dialler. The previous owner has given me the code, how ever the alarm doesn't do anything. It says 'SD1' and the '+' sign flashes on the control panel, but when i type the code in nothing happens (doesn't even say incorrect code - i've also tried the default 1234). I've found the manual off the internet here and every operation you need to do starts with entering the alarm code! Is there a way to reset it or is it a professioanls job? If so can you recommend anyone in Leeds?

Regards

The manuals for this system are freely available, if you find the installation manual it will show you how to reset the SD1 to factory defaults however this involves opening the unit up.

I have to put in the usual diclaimer and word of warning that if you are not electrically/electronically minded then you should not attempt this as I don't want you to blow yourself up.!!

If you are unsure, then call in a man who can !

- I take it you are pressing the "ENT" button after your four digit code??

hi

yes, i'm pressing the ent button....how ever, nothing happens on the screen no matter what buttons i press, it just has 'sd1+' and the + sign is flashing. I think the previous owners said they disabled it which would make sense i guess. Have found an installation manual (here) and number 8 - commissioning and testing talks about holding a screwdriver between the factory restart pins, i take it this is what i need to do (after turning the power off from the fuse box) to reset the alarm?

thanks

best advice is get a local engineer in, dropping off and re introducing mains power will not do the trick. If youve ever had a power cut youll notice your alarm remains powered up. dont risk blowing fuses, annoying neighbours, ruining what appears to be a working system and putting yourself at risk. this is what i consider a beer money job for on the way home from work, but it must be done properly.

Errr, the manual you have made available here is freely um available. You have not read it correctly.

As for playing with MAINS ELECTRICITY, dont.

That isnt the way, you need an engineer to sort this and i am sure if you post a location someone here will provide a competent service for a reasonable price.

Just read down b4 i posted this ( proof reading can be so helpful, stops foot in mouth disease).

Anyone from leeds want to help out here.

cheers

Might be that way but not for a while, so try your locals.

cheers
