You can star off the line from the panel not a RKP and the 680 resistor should be cut in the panel and one fitted to each RKP, like you say.

Yes, it causes problems like ***** displayed on RKP!

right!! point taken will start the rewiring tomorow and let u know how i get on. Thanks for your advice

doesn't the resistor size vary according the amount of keypads (if star network)?

No, there should always be 2 in total.

1 in panel and 1 in last RKP, or 1 in each of the last RKP's if starred from the panel.

If you don't know......ask.

Never tried it, but I think it would cause major problems. I think two would be the max for RKP's.

If you don't know......ask.

if i have not yet lost my memory RS485 "want's" 120ohm end of line resistor.

having 680 ohm resistors would mean there is 4,67 branches (one resistor is in panel end..)

I've had problems adding a MK7 keypad to a system with a MK2 keypad(like yours) and had to change the old keypad for a MK7

You are quite right Georg, RS485 looks for 120Ohms and two 680Ohms in parallel is 340Ohms, so I'm not quite sure how it works on the Galaxy.....but it does!!

If you don't know......ask.

lol

you're right, it doesn't!! It just says it has 1x 680 in the panel and 1x 680 at the end of the line. You've got me thinking now

Must be Galaxy's own version of RS485!

If you don't know......ask.
