July 9, 200619 yr comment_106489 I have a DIY alarm with an old bell box. It has no backup batteries inside, and I want to change it for one that does. My question is I live in an area that has a fair amount of power cuts. Will these set the bell off ? I don't want to upset the neighbours. Also after it is installed do they all generally have a feature that allows them to be switched off from inside the house if I need to open the panel for any reason ? , Dom. July 10, 200619 yr comment_106509 Hello, The power cuts should not set the bell off. What will set the bell off in a power cut is if the backup battery in the panel goes dead. Not sure what you mean by this Also after it is installed do they all generally have a feature that allows them to be switched off from inside the house if I need to open the panel for any reason ?, Dom. When you enter engineering mode in the panel it will not set the bell off. djrock Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/11290-bell-box-question/#findComment-106509 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
