Sensormatic Speeddome Ultra Iii

Featured Replies

I have a speed dome that has video, 24vac power, and shows a steady yellow light on the I/O board indicating good Manchester communication. However, I have no control from the head end. I believe that the addressing is correct, (according to tech support). The address is "camera 6" Does anyone have any ideas? I'm at my wits end with this one. I have swapped locations with this cam and it works fine. I did hear from one source that the sheild wire needs to be landed at both ends of the cable to work with Manchester format, however, the installation manual does not show this connection.

if you earth both ends any interference has nowhere to go...

...

?!?

earthing current will just cause humm in that case

Set the domes address to 9-0-1 and power it up, this'll put the camera into diagnostic mode where only the camera block will be powered up (not the pan/tilt)- you can then send a command when it says "checking network type" and it'll tell you what protocol was detected.

HTH :)

Hi Chuck, I don't believe I missed this thread... (big fan of the UltraDome).

It might help to have a look at a previous thread posted 24th May by Karab95.

What are you controlling your dome with?
