sos but just need opinions of the alarm kits, if there good value, reliable, and effective. what about the eurosec one?

The Eurosec one would be a good system too but the manuals aren't as good (read: you need to know what they mean before you read them) and the menu options aren't as intuitive.

For a reasonably inexperienced DIYer I would recommend the Texecom R8 kit.
