Flashing 24 Hr Led Texecom Veritas 8 (compact?)

I was fitting some laminate flooring and I think I nicked the cable in the landing, because when i went to set the alarm on at night all the zone leds(4) lit up and the alarm would not arm up.

I opened the control panel found 800mA fuse blown (the right outer one out of the 3) I replaced it but now I get the 24 hr led flashing & trying to reset wil not clear it. The remote keypad also has a flashing tamper led.

I linked the tamper contacts on the control panel still no good. All pirs have leds which react to movement. If I take out battery & power down the mains & then put mains back on the fault clears & I am able to set the alarm. But I cannot power down when the battery is connected so I get the flashing 24hr led which will not reset .

Any ideas what the fault could be??

the wire that you cut, where does it go. Does it go to the rkp, or a pir, or the outside box?

i am assuming you have joined the wire back together properly. and the only other place you have being in, is the control box, it may well be your problem is with the tamper spring inside the control panel.

Hi ,

Check for a short between zone and tamper circuit.

I have joined the damage cable back. But I did a resistance check on the tamper cct and it was 5 ohms which seemed to suggest that the tamper loop, which has 4 pirs in series to be ok. I did link the the tamper cct in the control panel to make sure and the fault was still the same, with the shorting link in the tamper terminals.
