  1. I am meeting the client soon and will take a look at the equipment to ascertain what they have, I must admit I'm expecting it to be a galaxy with custom firmware but we will see.
  2. Yes I meant engineers code. Thanks for the help so far
  3. Thanks for the reply. Its a long winded story and I wont go in to it here but it wasn't money (apparently). Will ADT hand it over or will it be a case of a hard reset and start again?
  4. Hi All, I was wondering if anyone had any experience of taking over an existing ADT alarm system for a client? I have been approached by a prospective client who has an existing ADT install of over 10 years old. They have decided to cancel their ADT contract and have asked me to take a look. Am I right in thinking ADT install a different type of panel to most? I know installing a complete new system is the belt and braces answer but I didnt want to quote for this unless it really was necessary. Regards Alex
  5. Hi, I'm a Scantronic user and have installed a few of the Ion 30r panels and booked to install a 40h Panel tomorrow. I have always found the support guys and girls very helpful if I needed them!
  6. Hi, I'm quite new as well, but welcome anyway
  7. Hi Peter, Thank you for your kind comments, we are linked with the shop and based there for now. The website I'm still working on but its coming along. Hopefully see you around.
  8. I have experience in both, I have worked for one of the big national alarm firms Yes I agree, but if I want to work with larger firms in the City (London) accreditation would be needed, as well as obtaining Police response and a URN?
  9. Ah ok I'm following you, initially I'm looking at silver with a view of growing to gold over the next few years but I want to make sure NSI is the way to go before booking myself on to their applications course next week.. Ive worked in installations of access control, alarms and CCTV mainly. Security Management, Guarding Management and Facilities and Facilities Management. A varied past from national installation firms, small install firms, subbing and large City firms in London.
  10. Sorry I wasn't asking what work is best, just what out of the NSI or SSAIB, I'm edging towards NSI as they run courses and seem to be more helpful on the phone etc so far. Hi Peter, I have been in the Security and Facilities industries for the last 15 years, does that affect which accreditation I should go for? Any advice would be welcome.
  11. Hopefully just in his responses I want to do some research on NSI and SSAIB, do you have any advice on where to start? I want to see if I can work out which accreditation would be best for me.
  12. Hi All, Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. Look forward to learning and contributing in the future. Alex
