  1. I also agree, but just so that I don't mess up the whole lot, how can I backup the current settings on wintex? Also do you need to know the layout or what I want from each sensor?
  2. Thank you MrHappy, sorry but this has made no difference.
  3. Okay, so I followed Mark's instructions and edited & saved the settings in wintex. I scanned the fob. It asks do u want to arm? I chose part-arm It asks suite A or B I chose A It now wants me to exit the front door in order to activate the alarm But I'm trying to set it up so that I can activate it at night, i.e. front door needs to remain closed.
  4. Datadiffusion, I never said that I have a God-given right. All I'm asking for is only one person to tell me which settings to enable/disable on wintex. I don't mind posting the screen shots again, just in case I've missed or made a change that I'm unaware of and for someone to check and tell me if what I'm doing wrong. FYI, I've already backed up the alarm settings and tried a changing settings, but have had no luck.
  5. @mark auto QA - Thank you, I will give these settings a try and let you know how I get on. @al-yeti - If manuals were as easy as you think, I don't think there would be a need for forums like these as a lot of people would be able to resolve issues without assistance. I have been as pro-active as possible by providing screenshots and as much info as possible. Some people have certainly tried to help me, to which I'm very grateful, but I've got mixed up with the settings along the way. @secureiam - Thank you very much. It seems your the only person who understands what I'm trying to ask. All I want is one person whom knows about these alarms to guide me screen-by-screen, explaining which options to enable/disable. @datadiffusion - At least you've tried to help, unlike some who'd rather sit on the fence to mock and criticise.
  6. @datadiffusion - Phew! You got me worried as I thought you were serious mate @Jim Randle - Thanks Jim. The problem I have is that I've now got mixed up with the settings that I've already been told by sixwheeledbeast and mrhappy, so I'm not sure what to leave on and what not to. I'd be ever so grateful if someone could maybe get the screenshots I've already posted and draw with arrows, what to leave on and off?
  7. I'm ever so sorry dataffusion, I only bumped the thread, because I didn't receive any response to my previous replies.
  8. Thank you sixwheeledbeast. On prev page, where I've posted the Area3 screenshot, it already is Timed Exit. Also you say you wouldn't use the Area Arm suites, but this is now becoming confusing, because I'm not sure which options need to be enabled/disabled as I've got two different advises.. Could I please ask u a big favour? Using all the screenshots that I've posted, could you please draw or at least clearly explain PER screenshot what you want me to change, enable or disable.
  9. Thank you Mrhappy. As you can see, I've updated it and now when I arm the alarm and press the "PART" button on the keypad. Normally I would get the choice menu which would allow me to choose Bed alarm 1, but now I get the choice of Suite01.ArmArea A. After choosing this, there is no timer countdown at all. Instead I have to open and close the front door to activate the alarm.
  10. Mrhappy and Sixwheeledbeast - I'm really sorry guys, but you'll have to be very specific for a dummy like me. What screenshot are each of you referring to and what options do I need to enable/disable? Thanks again
  11. I think it's easier if I posted screenshots for you to check. Please let me know if you can spot any mistakes. Thank you.
  12. Thanks sixwheelbeast and al-yeti. I followed your instructions to the dot. It still doesn't work. I've even disabled the auto function on the missus phone to see if this would resolve the issue, but it doesn't. FYI, when I scan the prox fob, I then choose BED ARM 1. The alarm is then wanting me to open and close the exit door, so that it assumes the user has walked out of the house. I do this and once it's armed, as soon as I walk past the Hallway sensor, it triggers off. I don't even get to the landing.
  13. Morning everyone, thank you for your replies. I have 3 users setup - MASTER USER, MYSELF & WIFE. Although my missus's fob is auto arm, mine isn't. I used mine to do the same thing, but it hasn't worked. I have an idea....Rather than play about with the current users, I suggest that we setup a brand-new user called BED-TIME and then set it up totally dedicated for arming the alarm at night. Is this possible and if so, can you please guide me? Thank you.
  14. @sixwheeledbeast - But the alarm is set to auto arm as soon as the fob is scanned, so I don't get a choice to choose part or full as I think it automatically sets it to full arm. I've tried it after enabling Part 1 Omit, but it still triggers off. Also in order to actually arm it once the alarm fob has been scanned, I have to open the front door and then close it. This is the only time the alarm then fully-arms. @al-yeti - LOL! I only blanked stuff, because I just wasn't sure what was okay to post...sorry @Danny May - Problem with wireless extender is you have to always leave the internet on, but we turn ours off.
  15. How would part-arm omit effect the alarm during the day? Will the landing sensor not work at all?
  16. Thanks for that. So other than enabling Part 1 Omit for the Landing sensor, do I need to change any of the other settings on the remaining sensors? What is Part 1 Omit btw? Also I don't use a code as I have a fob to scan. But the way it's setup is that as soon as it's scanned, the alarm starts it's countdown, i.e. no options. This is because the missus doesn't know how to use it and was setup for her. I'm sometimes out due to work reasons for a few days every month, so she has to use it. I know this is a bit of a long-shot, but is there any way that it automatically can detect by the time that it needs to part-arm for the bed?
  17. Hi everyone, Thanks for your help. Sorry I forgot to mention that I also have a detector on the door. I set this alarm up myself, but with a lot of help from a friend, whom is now not available as he's gone abroad. I have some understanding, but not adept at using wintex, other than to change code etc. What I've done though to help you guys is attach 3 screenshots of wintex, showing the Front Door (Door Contact), Hallway & Landing settings. I hope this helps, but if you require any other info, then please let me know. Thank you. PS. I'VE BLACKED OUT THE REST OF THE ZONES
  18. Morning everyone, With it now being darker, I've got to be more security conscious than before and think about family safety, especially with high burglary rates around our area. My main goal is to somehow enable the alarm to be activated at night-time, so that if someone breaks in downstairs, then the alarm triggers. My current setup is 3 pirs in living/kitchen rooms and 1 in hallway, which is also where the keypad is located. I also have a pir detector on the upstairs landing. All of the alarm settings can be controlled with my pc as I have wintex installed and it's networked to the alarm. Here is the dilemma:- 1. If we enable the keypad from downstairs, then once the alarm is activated, the landing pir will trigger if there is movement. So firstly I want to be able to disable this pir for the night, so that family can still use bathroom. 2. How can I disable the alarm via the keypad, when we wake up in the morning, without triggering the hallway pir? Thank you for your help
  19. I've got to agree with you and hold my hands up. Before I bought this alarm system, I thought I'd figure it out pretty quickly, but now I realise that I have bitten off more than I can chew. I am almost there and majority of alarm system seems to be working fine, but some of the technical stuff I certainly do struggle with.
  20. @james.wilson What do you suggest mate? @MrHappy Leaky triggers? What's that and how do I resolve it?
  21. The missus is very nervous of technical equipment, so I want to keep it as basic as possible. I only need her to be able to set ARM/DISARM with the Tag. No we don't need to part set or omit.
  22. @al-yeti - not sure mate. How can I check? @james.wilson - Your right, but because the alarm panel is wired in the basement, we don't have loud enough sound from keypad to alert us if an intruder managed to break-in. @sixwheeledbeast - The original speaker is still on there too. Can't I keep both? They seem to be working fine and the sound-bomb is more than loud enough to wake the whole house up.
