  1. Thanks for the reply @al-yeti It was a "new" part via eBay supplied by the owner. I'm guessing a dud is most likely since I've reset the panel and re-programmed from scratch. Going to see if I can persuade them to go Texecom and replace the whole lot.
  2. Hi both, thanks for the help. Panel was powered off while installing the module. Firmware on the sticker and from the keypad is reported as: JS703650 E20.214 Checked and repeated the following; Power cycled. Ribbon seated correctly with correct orientation (as you said it's keyed). 2k2 resistors in series for tamper and parallel across the normally closed contacts.
  3. I've taken on support of a Visonic System that has a requirement for a few hardwired zones adding. This is the first Visonic I'm working on so I have little experience. I've added a ioXpander-8 module to the system without any physical issue (The LED on the board flashes away), although it doesn't appear to show up in the "05: Outputs" menu. I can add a wired zone as 050-0001, but not 050-0002 which suggests that the expander isn't being seen (The panel only supports one zone without expansion). There's nothing in the documentation about adding an expander other than possibly enabling it under the "05: Outputs" menu which I also don't see as an option. There's an enroll button on the board I've tried pushing and push+holding which doesn't seem to have made a difference. Any guidance on this one? Should it "just work" or is there some undocumented feature I've missed? Thanks!
  4. Hi all, I’m selecting a panel for my home, I’ve got a Honeywell G4 at the minute and I’m happy enough with this but it’s a bit limited on the output side. I’ve spoken to a few people and nosed around various forums, some have said Galaxy G2’s are bullet proof where as the newer Flex series can be a bit buggy but are worth the investment. Not too worried about scoping for size. I’ve got two external doors that will have magnetic contacts and 6-7 PIR sensors throughout the house, A bell box (or two) and three keypads. I believe either system should be good with this. My real question is on the I/O side of things. I have a fairly involved monitoring system and home automation system that’s going to be attached to this. The monitoring system and home automation needs a few lines out for the following: 2x System Armed / Disarmed 2x Intruder Alert 2x Duress / PA 1x Motion, even when the system is disarmed All in addition to the standard SCB / Bell Box connections. One set of outputs will be for remote monitoring the other set is for the home automation system. So I make that seven outputs in all + bell box’s, I was told the Galaxy Flex 20 can be setup like this and to get a “Trigger module 8 outputs - A071-00-01” however hearing of some issues with the Flex 20 I wanted to make sure. This is possible and will work on the Flex 20 without needing to buy more hardware? That I’m not being up sold the Flex over the Galaxy G2-20 unnecessarily and have the reliability bite me later on? Any thoughts or advise? Thanks
