Guest stanaway
hi, i have recently recieved a veritas intruder system from a friend who moved house. I have all but wired it up but have got stuck at the point of connecting the external bell in to the control panel. As i have no installation manual and cannot find out what make of bell it is i have come to a stop. there were wires left in the bell as follows; red +H blk -H grn +R white eng yell TR blue ST ,and wires in the control panel as follows: SAB blue -VE BLK 0v YELL A/T GRN BELL -VE RED +VE SPEAKER BLK LS- RED LS+ Does this make sence to anyone, and can they offer any advice short of getting someone in who knows what they are doing. thanks Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/853-in-need-of-advise/ Share on other sites
JB_
My guess would be an Elmdene box, simply because it's the only one i've seen with a +ve(+R) and -ve Ring terminals and the ENG terminal in it(connect 12V to it and no matter what happens the bell won't sound). If you've got those wires correct then it seem's a little amiss to me, i'd change it to be wired as follows. Bell Red +H Black -H Green -R Yellow TR Blue ST White (no connection to anything) Panel Red +VE (A) Black -VE (D) Green BELL -VE (B) Yellow A/T © Blue STROBE -VE (S) White No connection again Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/853-in-need-of-advise/#findComment-4615 Share on other sites
JB_
Actually thinking about it, i thought Veritas panels used A,B,C,D,S terminals on their panels for the bell connection's so i'll edit my post to show which is which.
