i have just inherited a optima 2 plus alarm in my new house (about 6 years old). before ive even got a chance to get round to using it there was a power cut in the street. i cant manage to switch the alarm off since power was restored, entering the code does nothing so ive just left the alarm breaker off since. any ideas?

p.s when i eventually get the alarm up and running again will it be triggered by my two cats?.. i have a mixture of window/door triggers and also room sensors.

The battery will be faulty and the system may have lost its programming, not forgetting that the system may have been damaged due to it trying to charge a faulty battery.

With the animals, it might be wise to update your system in one hit, get some quotes for deceiding on a repair or update.
