Speech Dialler Trigger Inputs - Which To Use?

Featured Replies

Hi

Just wondering what trigger inputs you would normally connect up from a texecom veritas excel control panel with an 8 channel interface to a texecom speech only dialler with 4 trigger inputs.

I am currently using:

PA, Intruder and Duress (for duress code no bells)

I don't have any fire detectos and have tried the set/unset output but have no need for the panel to ring me when the alarm is set.

I am not sure what these do:

Abort? - is this to abort dialling? I am currently using abort on reset trigger or by code

Zone Lockut?

Confirmed - not sure what this is for?

I am thinking of using the zone lockout but not sure if there is any need. Apparently it's if any zones remain open at the end of the 2nd intruder time - Is this useful?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Unless you really need anything else other than notification of an activation then I'd just connect PA, Fire and Intruder. If you're using a duress code then connect that up as well if you want additional information over and above 'the alarm has been activated' messages.

I'd also connect the additional wire in for fire as if you ever do add smokes onto the system the trigger is there as it's easier to do now rather than later.

I agree with Lurch the duress trig is a nice idea as it is a silent alarm

But virtually useless on a non-policed system
