Hello Peeps

I am looking for companies that can suply various convertors for me. I know they exist but I can't find them anywhere. I am looking for the follwing if anyone can pass me in the right direction

RJ45 to PSTN BT plug. Basically I wanty to be able to convert a patch lead into a telephone cable by using this convertor to plug directly into the BT plug socket. Also I need to convert the other end from the male RJ45 to a RJ11 Male or a PSTN Female. Does anyone know of where I can get these from.

I know they are standard plug adapters in the telecoms test engineers industry but I have been out of the game for a couple of years and can't find a suplier anymore.

How many are you after? I generally make my own RJ45 to BT431 leads as I don't use them very often, and I can't say as I've seen them anywhere tbh. If you want some making I can get you a price.

Alternatively, if you're likely to be making a few, or different variations\lengths, then it might well be worth just buying the tools for putting the plugs on and buying the connectors and cable to make custom leads on site.

The RJ45 male to BT431 female are commonly referred to as mod-taps and are available pretty much anywhere as either PSTN master, PBX master or secondary. Available here

Confirming this RJ45 male to BT Male plug and at the other end RJ45 male to RJ11 male or PSTN female.

Sounds like perhaps an ADSL connection to be run over a Cat-5 Patch cable or through structured cabling (just a guess as you have mentioned Rj11 ?).

Like Lurch says he does, I normally make my own. Whatever it is for, cheapest way would be to cut the plugs off and provide a telephone linejack for the PSTN female and at the other end cut the plug off and wire it into the box connection or extension panel of the NTE5a master.

Cannot think off-hand of an actual adapter to do the RJ45 male to BT male, thoug there are plenty of companies who will make to order if you do not want to wire yourself. The other end Rj45 male to RJ11 male or BT PSTN female, well I have seen RJ45 to RJ11 adapters somewhere before, a good search through all the cbale stockists/specialists on Google should find one if it is not available from the other links posted.

Simon
