Maybe he phoned the installer at 10 AM and decided that as he didn't answer the phone then he must be unavailable? Does happen you know.

Message for David - I had exactly the same problem. Had an engineer out who replaced the rechargable battery, powered the system down for 40 seconds then back up, and it is now working fine.

You also have to check that the system has not been damaged by the system trying to damage the faulty battery, and that the new battery is charging correctly.
