Guest conovii
Hi All. After a recent storm the strobe is flashing but i have no power to the control panel of my citadel xr2. It should show 2 lights, a power light and a day light but does not show any. I have power to the main panel. The previous owners left no instruction book. Can anyone please help? Guest
Sounds somewhat fried unfortunately. I take it there is no response from the keypad? An engineer would probably be the best option by the sounds of it. Whereabouts are you? Guest
Only round the corner from me then. If it has been affected by the lightning it would be a good idea to get it serviced to make sure everything is still in working order. Guest vinnys
Hi Convoii, if you have the XR2, and after a lightening storm, open the main control panel up and check the glass fuse for the keypad (inside the control power unit). The fuse for the keypad is in the lefthand side of the control panel next to the wiring block for the keypad. If the fuse tests okay its possible that a section of the control panel has blown or the the keypad itself is fried. advancedprotection
I would strongly reccommend you get an alarm engineer around to service your panel as there is 240volts present inside the panel !!. also with little knowlage of alarm panels you could do more damage than good Martin Trade Member It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice!! Guest
No need to reply to this thread any more, the fellow got it sorted cos he had a mate who once fitted a few of these and he 'reset it'. Hi All I have a similar but different problem with my Citadel XR2. On Saturday we had a power cut for about 4 hours and the alarm sounded for a while then stopped. The strobe is still going. Hower the system ain't working! The backlights to the keypad are lit, but no other lights are indicating and the keypad does nothing. Also there is a red LED lit on the control unit - I'm not sure it's always been red or whether it was green before. I had the system installed 5 years ago but can't get hold of the engineer just now - think he may be on holiday. I only have limited documentation for the system and it doesn't help. Can anyone suggest whether I can reset the unit, whether it's fried, or anything else that might help? Thanks in anticipation of your help.
