Hi all

I am installing a speech dialler to a galaxy and have wired it up correctly and getting 50 volts accross a and b.I have set the dialler up so it dials 9 then a pause then the number(you need to dial 9 to get an out side line)when i set up a test call it replays my message but it doesn't say ringing as it explains in the manual.I have tried to force pulse dial and tone dial but it still doen't show ringing.

Please help

Ps i have located a bt point that i may be able to tap into although it says on the box it's for a modem and the colour of the wires are brown/white and white/brown would i be able to use it??

It doesn't matter what the wire colours are, it's what they're connected to. If it's a standard phone point with 2+5 connected then I would have thought so.

Have you definitely got the SD1 connected to an analogue extension and not a digital one.

Try programming the unit to ring an internal extension - that way you find out whether the problem is within the local telephone network or beyond it.

mmm, try connecting it to a dedicated fax line - connecting through a PABX will prob cause problems as most internal PABX'S are digital networks anyway.

Try finding a fax socket and use that - just an idea to try for you.

Converter? What needed converting? If it was a standard analogue fax machine then the SD1 shouldn't need any converting.

If the fax machine works on the line then somethings wrong with your connections.

Housty, I'm not trying to be funny, but if you answer some of the questions, those of us who are trying to help may be able to help more!!

Sounds like it is Re-playing the recorded message.

To send a test call press A then press 1 this will send message A to phone number 1.

This should work
