Not so much tut tut as why bother - all new ,quality bells have a Min cut off Incorporated into the SAB so as to comply with noise abatement regs etc. so even if you have a total power failure the bell will cut off after 20 Min's.

In my experience as the nicad voltage slowly drops the timer zeros itself - dont forget its not NVM in the bell which controls this, so even a modern SAB can cause problems in a total power fail.

I agree - I think the quick solution is to hold a high power air riffle with firearms certificate of course! - shoot the bell box of the wall :realmad:

I have done that! my brother has a .303 with a scope. It took about ten shots as I wasnt totally sure where the sounder was.

Just reminding that wireless alarm systems do not exist.

There are wireless systems that seem to be similar with an alarm system.

Difference is that alarm systems are reliable and wireless systems are not.

Wireless is meant to work like an alarm system but there is no reliability. Wireless system is easy to jam and the jammer can not be located without expencive equipment which usually is not available very quickly.

If anyone wants an alarm system they choose wired.

If anyone has too much money and do not know how to spend it they can buy wireless "alarm" systems. Thou i guess that there are better ways to invest your money.

Wireless is great idea, but not in security, unless it can not be done with wires ie. panic buttons that are held in persons wrist for example. Also it can be used for remote controlling if encrypted/rolling - code.

ok that was nice but this forum doesnt have a poll option

on a scale of 1-10 how well do they work. do they detect, do they F/A. I suppose the proffesionals would go for Hard Wire but are there any who think that wireless is at least equal to wired. Either way i will be fitting it myself so your not going to get a sale. Just your honest opinion plz. Dont mean to be patronising!

In my humble opinion, having never installed a wireless system but ive been called out to a few (albeit some years ago), you will get what you pay for as always.

Ive never met anyone in the UK that has a good word to say about wireless alarms, and you probably wont get many on here to say otherwise.

With wireless you take a chance my man!

Im sure replies werent meant as you received them my friend :(

Alot of friendly banter on here at the mo, but generally wired is more reliable my good sir - no nastyness intended from anyone.
