Maxcom Keyboard Connections

Featured Replies

Hi, hope somebody can help !!

I have a Maxcom Keyboard and Maxcom Gold switcher, but no interconnect cable.

The Maxcom keyboard is a 4V unit HKJMMTP-EU which I believe is an RS485 unit. On the rear of the unit there is a RJ11 power and an RJ45 Control connector.

The Maxcom switch is a 16/2 unit HMAX162-EU. They are both black in colour. On the panel of this unit there is two RJ45 Keyboard connectors and also a RJ45 TP (for telemetry I guess) 12v RJ11 power and serial ports marked PC and RS232 CTRL.

Does anybody know the pinout for the keyboard ? As in how to connect the two units ? Do you connect the Control to the KYBD1 ?

From the manual (HMMI-001-01-00.pdf) I have for the Maxcom Gold switch states

The keyboard connectors are ‘RJ’ Type Connectors. A cable with 8-pin RJ45-type plugs on both ends is provided for connection between a keyboard and the MaxCom Gold

The pin-outs for KBD1 and KBD2 are as follows:

Pin 1 Data+ White/Orange

Pin 2 Data – Orange

Pin 3 Ground White/Green

Pins 4 – 8 Not used

Thanks in advance, Adrian.
