Gardtec Dialler & Comms Cable

Featured Replies

Finally got round to finding a comms cable for the Gardtec Dialler to an 872 board.

It plugs into the SK3 Comms Port.

I'm having some trouble debugging the colour coding.

I.e. The comms plug has blue, red, black, yellow and green.

I'm not sure which colour goes into which terminal on the dialler:

FLT, TRG1, TRG2, TRG3, TMP, TMP, 0V +12V

The "User Manual" doesn't give any indication.. so can anyone who's fitted one point me to the correct manual or..?

Thanks!

Hello, That sort of info is in the installation manual. It appears communicator SK3 is not for speech diallers. It says for ProDigi or Gardtec Modem.

For the triggers it appears you use terminals D1 (programmed as fire if required) PA and 12Hr.

Wait and see what the pro

Thanks for the reply.

I was skimming through the installer manual and noticed the Sk3 - guess I'm wrong!

I've sent an email to secwarehouse where I bought the cable from asking if they can provide the pins.

In the meantime - if anyone else can confirm the pins that'd be really helpful!

Thanks

The serial cable is designed for serial comms, ie not a trigger driven speech dialler. You may use the serial lead for compatible serial devices (a pc, pro digi etc)

To trigger a voice dialler have a look at page 33.

there are various outputs there to use a trigger, ie 12hr pa etc. Wire these into the corresponding trigger connections on the dialler.

Looks like the title of the lead was misleading - not worrys!

Thanks for the reply. I'll wire it in tonight.

The Gardtec Speech Dialler can be used in serial mode with 800 series and 500 series Gardtec Panels.

The part no of the lead you require is 04-070

Wires are connected to the dialler as follows:-

Yellow FLT

Green TRG1

Black TRG2

Blue 0v

Red 12v

You will need to program the dialler for Serial comms (P4 option 6 set to on)

Don't forget to remove the line fault resistor on the control panel
