December 19, 200817 yr comment_219164 Like all Digital Recorders the Hard drive(s) can go faulty as they are continually read/writing unlike your PC at home. This can cause the unit to fail completely. Changing the hard drive is simple for an exeperienced technician. Just fit another unformatted PATA drive of a similar spec/size and format within the HDD menu of the VDR. These units do have a 2 year guarantee so you may want to contact Vicon before you take the lid off. Hope this helps. Send me a PM if you need more info.
