Door Contact Wiring On Galaxy 2-44

Featured Replies

I am fitting a Galaxy 2-44 and have a door contact that does not have any wiring instructions. Its a simple magnetic contact rated at G3.

Can anyone tell me if I need to fit a 1k resistor across the alarm and between the alarm and tamper contacts in the junction box?

Also do these need any power from the panel? I am assuming no.

I hope that makes sense.

Many thanks for any help.

you have to fit two 1k resistors on all galaxy panels

one for your alarm circuit and one for the tamper circuite

1k on alarm circuit goes parallel

and the 1k tamper goes in line

hope this helps

Thanks. Thats what I thought but wanted check!

Some Grade 3 contacts do come with the 1k resistors builtin, Elmdene green contacts and CQR type A contacts both come with the 1k's built in.

Stick your meter on the contact set to ohm's to check.

Chris.
