Question Re Eurosec Cpx Installation

Featured Replies

I am in the process of installing a eurosec CPX panel with blue line detectors and I have a few questions if some can help me out here:

1. Can I daisy chain the PIR's for the same Zone, ie 2 wired together in daisy chain format?

2. What are the resistors used for that come with the panel? I presume this is for more specialist zone wiring options - or should I be using them!! (I do understand I will have to use one 680Ohm on the RKP though.)

Many thanks.....

1) Depends on what you mean by daisy chain..

If you want to put more than one sensor on a zone you can do this, easy way is to do this

"Alarm" pair - take 1 wire of the pair and wire this into one side of the "Alarm Output" on the 1st PIR, use the same colour wire for the cable going to the next pir into the other side of the "Alarm" output of this PIR and wire the other wire and join it to the same colour going to the next PIR, repeat for ALL but the LAST PIR

Last PIR wire the pair into the "Alarm Ouput" as you would if it was just 1 PIR,

Do the same for the Tamper Pairs..

I.e if you want to use say blue and white as the alarm pair and green and yellow as tamper

Blue --PIR 1----PIR 2----PIR 3-<white

White---+--------+-----------+

Same with the Tamper colours of Green and Yellow

The power is just a case of

+ve ----PIR1----PIR2----PIR3

-ve ----PIR1----PIR2----PIR3

Where + is a join.

2) As for the resistors your right they are for a different method of wiring called EOL or End of Line it uses a Pair of resistors 1 across the Alarm pair and 1 to link fro Alarm to tamper and it only uses 2 wires instead of 4.

Subscriber to the "K.I.S.S" principle, that's Keep It Simple Stupid, are you?

if you are putting two detectors on one wire, then the eol method only uses 1 pair of wire for { contact and tamp} and one pair for power of both detectors

if you using a risco panel (CPX) . the risco detector come with onboard resistor.

ps it is best if each detector is on its own wire:

1) if you have a fault , it makes it easier to resolve.

2) if using eol, it leaves you with a spare pair, on a standard 6 core.
