Tyco 802sb / Sam800 Too Loud...

Featured Replies

Wotcha folks - we've had an alarm system fitted but they've neglected to program the sounders to a safe volume level (ie: in a room smaller than 10' square that houses 4 members of staff and 4x PCs, they've plonked in a Tyco 802SB / SAM800 set to 90dBA which is slowly rupturing our eardrums as it goes off at least 8 times a day - this isn't used for a FireAlarm setup, it's used for end-of-lesson bells in a high school.

Can anyone tell me how to reduce the volume level via a Minerva MX2 control panel? The installers left no documentation etc, and are wanting HUGE amounts of money to come out and program individual sounders (of which we have LOTS).

It's at the point where the staff have been issued with earplugs and use reminders in calendar software to tell them to put them in 30 seconds before the sounders are due to go off.
