Can Someone Explain The Com Modules For The Texecom Premier

Featured Replies

I want to add a gsm module onto my alarm and be able to interact with my alarm while i'm away by being able to reset it or turn it off if need be, but do i need a com module or do i not?

Can't find the relevent info anywhere :)

I've got a speech and text dialler on it at the moment but its just uses the 4 outputs from the premier 48 that can be set for different things, i.e alarm/failed to arm/mains failure etc.

or If i get the texecom gsm dialler does it have this function already built in??

PLEASE HELP ME, ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY :)

Don't have the GSM module but looking at the instructions for the GSM module:

Con1 - This 2.1mm power plug should be plugged into the power socket on the GSM

module.

Con2 - This RJ45 type connector should be plugged into the RJ45 Headset socket on

the GSM module.

Con3 - This 7-way Molex type connector should be plugged onto Com 2 on the

Premier48/88/168 control panel.

Con4 - This 5-way Molex type connector should be plugged onto the AUDIO port on

the Premier Com300/2400 communicator (this is only required if you want to

use the GSM Module as a backup for the Com300/2400).

Connection to Com300/2400 looks optional to me. Manual doesn't say it needs Com300/2400 to function for remote control.
