May 8, 200818 yr comment_196817 I have an SL8 G3 Intruder System. The box is starting to beep so I assume the backup battery needs replacing ? Can I do this myself (Newbie) without upsetting the system ? Do I just take the front panel off, take out the old battery and put a new one in ?? Or do I need an engineer. Sorry if this is a daft question ... May 8, 200818 yr comment_196827 Depends on the system programming - if it hasn't been serviced in the life of the battery get an engineer in to service it and replace the battery for you. May 15, 200818 yr comment_197673 hi mate. on your system changing the battery won`t make any diffrence what so ever. the bleep will still be there. the beep is a service bleep. it doesn`t stop it working or anything. it just starts to bleep when you have switched the system on/off so many times. the only way to turn it off is to go threw the engineer programming. if you don`t know much about alarms i would suggest calling an engineer. the company who fitted it could tell you over the phone how to get rid off it. if its a few years old i would just call someone to service it and they will switch the bleep off at the same time.
