I was looking at this DVR for my needs. I've read through the manual but it doesn't make it crystal clear about the motion detection.

Does the DVR detect the motion by detecting pixels that change or do I need to get a camera that detects motion (I know that it can also be set up to allow seperate sensor inputs).

Detecting Pixels, what dvr are you looking at Sparks?

I'm looking at the AverMedia EB 1304 MD. I thought I'd read somewhere about being able to start motion detection recording by analysing parts of the image that have changed, but don't know if it's the camera that does this or the DVR.
