Radio Zones On A Gardtec 490x

Featured Replies

Can Anyone help ?

I have a Gardtec 490X with the following Zones

Zone 1 - E/E - front Door

Zone 2 - Hard wired passive

Zone 91 (radio) - wireless Door contact

Zone 92 (radio) - Wireless Passive

Zone 93 (radio) - Wireless Passive

I want to add another Wireless Passive

I carry out the following :-

Enter Eng mode

Select the menu option to add (Auto) new wireless passive

Press both tampers on the wireless passive

the panel detects the passive

but when I Exit engineer mode then the panel reports a tamper on the new zone (zone 94) despite ensuring both the tamper switches on the new passive are closed

Is there any physical wiring to change ?

Thanks in anticipation

fit it - make sure the lids on properly

wait 2 mins without detection

walk in front of the unit

should now clear the tamper

as angus states,

the reason is the pir only sends a 'tamper clear' on the trailing edge of the 'pir clear' signal if indeed the tamper is clear at that moment then stays clear, thats why you have to leave it to settle then activate by movement it so it can send a pir alarm, clear and reset the tamper flag in that order

simple innit? :P
