Guest michelin
Recently my Optima XL went off in the early hours for a fault on Zone 6. The next day I put the panel into a manual tamper mode by pressing, prog then code. I then opened up the PiR in question to inspect for invading spiders (garage). On shouting OK to my missus, she entered our code again and pressed reset. Ever since that, the panel will not accept the code, or any combimation of it. I do not know the engineers code, I have tried four 9's etc but to no success. I have heard about people having problems with low batteries, so I have purchased a new 1, installed it but no good. I could not get the tamper to reset, would not accept code, and I had to climb on the roof to unplug the battery in the sounder box. I now have power on to the house but only because I have the alarm power isolated and the battery offline. PLEASE HELP ME SOMEONE Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/2156-optima-xl/ Share on other sites
DGMarsden
Hi Did u press prog then enter your code? Then did your wife enter the code and press reset or did she press reset then enter the code? Might be able to give you an answer. Dave Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/2156-optima-xl/#findComment-12134 Share on other sites
norman
Hello michelin, it sounds like you may have blown the supply fuse, check inside the control unit and check the glass fuses, also ensure the tamper is cleared by double checking the pir lid. Nothing is foolproof to a sufficiently talented fool. Guest Peter James
If you still have the Tamper light on then the detector lid has not been closed correctly thus causing tamper nothing will operate until you have closed the lid properly. Guest michelin
I have tried all suggestions - thankyou all. Unfortunately the thing is still the same. I have replaced the PiR with new, checked all fuses, the control panel is not in tamper. I do not know the engineers code. The panel will now not show any lights bar the power light. My wife pressed the code then enter when she initially got the control board out of tamper mode. If I need a new box, can someone please advise on a replacement. Guest dale
It might be worth giving an engineer a call before replacing the panel, as there may be something you missed! If you do need to replace I would recommend something like the Texecom Veritas 8 compact. DGMarsden
Texecom are good quality panels for the domestic home especially their veritas range. You could also stick with ADE and their Optima or Accenta range which are now as good a quality as texecom. Need any more help just ask.
