Optima Xm Fault

Featured Replies

Hi all,

A customer has a 10yr old ADE Optima XM and not much cash to spend.

External sounder/strobe does not work when everything else seems ok on walk test. Panel readings ok apart from voltage for SAB at panel output is only about 4V but fuse is ok. Aux supply ok. Not checked actual SAB as only 4v is output at panel.

As fuse ok, I assume PCB component has fault and have recommended replacement of panel with a new model.

My question is:

1. Anyone got any other ideas as to what I could check (and hopefully fix) that might be causing the problem?

or

2. Anyone know any suppliers who might have this model (i.e. straight like for like for one replacement) to save cost/effort of adapting wiring to new panel? - please don't say E-bay!

Thanx. All comments welcome.

whats the voltage at the panel terminals if you disconnect the sounder ? if it goes high its more likely to be the sounder / cable at fault
