July 15, 200718 yr comment_172366 Hi, Just moved into new home that has a Veritas 8 or R8 (not sure which) alarm system. By mistake I set off the tamper alarm by opening the main box (didn't know what it was, thought it might be cable so wanted to check). Since then the entrance hall PIR sets off the alarm even when it is unset (green led constantly on). Any ideas what I could do about that? Thanks for any replies. Pieter you mean it goes of - or does it make a " chime " noise , if its the latter you may have turned the chime on in error - turn that curcuit off chime if not did you have a fault before you interfered with the panel , and is it a new house or just new to you Angus Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/19963-veritas/#findComment-172379 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 July 15, 200718 yr Author comment_172382 Hi Angus, Thanks for the quick reply. No it is not set to chime, the alarm goes off properly. I checked which zones are set to chime just to make sure, and it is only the main door (zone 1). It is not a new house, just new to me. But the probnlem was not there before I opned the case (I know, should have kept my fingers off ).
