July 8, 200718 yr comment_171830 Hello I installed my own system veritas 8 with reflex quad pirs. I would like to add another pir (Prestige AMDT) which I purchased of online auction site. Had no instruction but see there are 5 connections 0v/12v/t-eol x2/rled Assume I should connect 0v 12v as normal Assume Alarm circ to T-eol Is the above correct But what about the rled connection? Also anti tamper is an issue how do I allow for this? Your help would be much appreciated Thank you Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/19903-connecting-prestige-amdt-to-veritas-8/ Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 July 8, 200718 yr comment_171837 Thanks for the fast infoLooks like it is going back on that site then. Regards hopefully this explains why it wont work that pir looks like it has EOL resistors installed across the alarm circuit and the tamper circuit thus making it a two wire connection (excluding any power), Where as with a veritas 8 panel that is a 4 wire connection (again excluding any power) which basically means that there is two wires to the alarm circuit and another 2 wires to the tamper circuit, A galaxy is a EOL panel but texecom veritas 8 panels are not. hope this makes sense. ct Edited July 8, 200718 yr by BellMan371 Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/19903-connecting-prestige-amdt-to-veritas-8/#findComment-171837 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 July 8, 200718 yr comment_171845 A galaxy is a EOL panel this pir has wrong values for this product! later ones have defineable values but I do not know if they suit a gal (don't use either product) is a EOL panel but texecom veritas 8 panels are not. plus versions have the option for eol, however the values are large odd ball USA ones again not with that PIR Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/19903-connecting-prestige-amdt-to-veritas-8/#findComment-171845 Share on other sites Share on LinkedIn Share on X Share on Facebook {lang="reddit_text" Share via email Share on Pinterest
 Time to resell it or prehaps sneaky dummy fix in room at rear of house visable to possible intruder. May make the system look like it has bigger teeth so to speak. Thanks again as always people are very fast to help. Time to resell it or prehaps sneaky dummy fix in room at rear of house visable to possible intruder. I would sell it and get another Dual Tech PIR. I would not think about fitting it as a dummy. May make the system look like it has bigger teeth so to speak. No it will not, the Intruder will not know what it does. Thanks again as always people are very fast to help.
