i have a client that wants to be able to monitor 8 cameras at 2 of his works from his own home, i would be like to hear your views or suggestions as to a good set up with a decent frame, rate relliable etc.

Does the client currently have:

DVR

ADSL (at both home/work)

If its a new install, I'd recommend a DVR365

he has adsl at both places but is at present using time lapse video

We have customers with 16 shops who use Geovision systems which are quite user friendly over the web.

He can also watch many shops at once on split screen.

what geovision kit would you reccomend

Depends on the frame rate you require, but for normal retail then the GV600 card is usually more than adequate.
