Security Technician
Hi Is it possible to put the end of line resistors in the panel rather than try squeeze them into a door contact? pir`s etc aren`t a problem but there isn`t much room in contacts Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1913-castle-care-tech-euro-12/ Share on other sites
ian.cant
You could do that but! The cct would then be unprotected, in other words it would be possible to have a short on that cct and you would be none the wiser. The purpose of EOL is to monitor a cct. Its tight in contacts but with practice you get used to it and you will find a way of doing it thats easier. misterg
HiIs it possible to put the end of line resistors in the panel rather than try squeeze them into a door contact? pir`s etc aren`t a problem but there isn`t much room in contacts you could do it so long as you ran a double pole circuit back to the control panel ie alarm and tamper and put the shunt and end of line resistors in the control panel / end station Mister G Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1913-castle-care-tech-euro-12/#findComment-10622 Share on other sites
ian.cant
BUT IT STILL WOULD BE UNPROTECTED! Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1913-castle-care-tech-euro-12/#findComment-10623 Share on other sites
Security Technician
if i was to do it then i would need to put the shunt resistor in series with one of the circuit wires? and then the eol across zone terminals? would this not affect next zone though as 2 wires are doubled up/commoned together for next zone Link to comment https://www.thesecurityinstaller.co.uk/community/topic/1913-castle-care-tech-euro-12/#findComment-10624 Share on other sites
Wooly-bobs
I find that if you put the resistor thats in parallel with the reed the other side of the screws there is more space for the wiring and the other return resistor. If you get me! On the subject of putting the resistors in the panel instead of in the detector, I was shocked and disturbed to find this 'interesting' wirning technique in a //.National Installer.// installation! gooner31
when i used to work for //.National Installer.// i saw this practice quite a few times. could never work out why it was done this way though. pete pete .................
