April 17, 200719 yr comment_163184 As a DIY installer I would like any advice available on positioning PIR sensors around my house, in particular a list of Do's and Don't would be useful. I appreciate this may be classed as 'tricks of the trade' and whilst I am not trying to put anybody out of business, I do feel that there are a number of keen DIY installers (Myself included) who will never be able to afford a professionally installed alarm or perhaps enjoy the challenge of doing it themselves - but do want to do the best job possible. April 17, 200719 yr comment_163189 Hi , Most detectors come with comprehensive instructions and usually recommend that you don't position them looking at large windows or above a radiator.Newer detectors are more tolerant , as sometimes there is no choice but to face a window.Keep your cables away from mains cables ,and choose a good quality detector and you shouldnt have any problems. Regards.
