Do you want just to be able to read number plates or do you want to employ number plate recognition software?

To use anpr you will require much better images than to just read the plate number off a recording.

To capture numbers for anpr on an entrance 15 meters wide would be very difficult with 1 camera.

To capture number plates at night with vehicle headlights on you would need a special camera such as the ones supplied by Derwent.
